Coursekit
A course platform that did not win the market

About the project
Coursekit was a course platform with trainings and learning options. At first it felt like a solid idea. Soon it became clear how hard it is to compete with so many other platforms. Looking back, I should have researched the market and what people actually want.
The platform worked. The design looked clean, with a green style that felt calm and professional. Some courses were genuinely useful. Still, it stayed small: slow to use, limited catalog, and not enough growth to keep going.
- Courses and trainings in one place
- A clean green design
- A hard lesson about market research
The challenge
Building a course platform is one thing. Getting people there is another. Competition was fierce, the Coursekit catalog was limited, and the site itself felt slow. A few active users were not enough to make it grow.
What I learned
Tech alone does not save a product. Without a sharp view of the market and of what users want, you keep building something that works fine but nobody needs. I still carry that lesson.
Taken offline
In the end I took the website offline. Not an easy choice, but the right one. It cost time and energy, while it did not deliver what I had hoped. Sometimes closing something is better than pulling on a project that will not grow.
