SafetyShortcuts

SafetyShortcuts was one of my first official projects. I thought the concept of the website was strong and well-intentioned, but it didn't turn out as I had hoped. That's okay. I saw where things could be improved and I learned from that.

The website, SafetyShortcuts, was aimed at people with an Apple device and the Shortcuts app. If you felt unsafe, for example if you were alone, you could download shortcuts from the site to call the police unnoticed. This was done via a hidden menu that looked like something normal, like ordering a large pepperoni pizza. That way you could indicate how serious the situation was. There were several shortcuts like this.

The use was simple. You created an account, went to the shortcuts page and downloaded what you needed. The website itself just didn't look that good. That's probably also a reason it received little attention.

Due to lack of maintenance, the website has become outdated and less secure after a while. That's why I decided to take it offline.
